Make lessons compulsory in online courses for student completion. Skipping is possible but discouraged.

If you set a lesson as compulsory, your students will need to complete that lesson before proceeding to other lessons.

First, go to 'Courses' then click on the desired 'Course' where you want to set the lesson as compulsory.

Next go to 'Curriculum' > 'Welcome to the Course' to make this lesson compulsory

'Welcome to the Course' > 'Set as Compulsory' > 'Save Changes'

If you are logged in as a student and try to skip the 'Welcome' video & jump to the next lesson this message will come up:

"Please complete the lesson 'Video' to continue ~ Take me to this Lesson"

If a video lesson is set as compulsory, students can skip forward and go to the end, yet they will still be allowed to proceed. So, it's not foolproof, but it does create a sense of compulsion within the lesson.

Please refer to the support documents for more information on setting up assignments as compulsory.
