How to Download the Zenler Mobile App on Your Phone

Whether you have an iPhone or an Android phone, our app is available on both platforms.

Go to the App Store.

Search for 'Zenler Ltd'.

Click 'Zenler'.

Click 'Download'.

When the Zenler App is downloaded, click 'Open'.

"Zenler Would Like to Send You Notifications" > click 'Allow'.

Enter your 'Email Address' > 'Agree to T&C's' > click 'Sign In'.

Make sure you use the same email you used to buy the course or membership. If you use a different email, you won't be able to access it.

Next, you'll need to 'check your email' for the verification code.

When you receive an email from Zenler, simply copy your confirmation code.

Go back to Zenler App > paste/enter your confirmation code > click 'Verify'.

You're now inside your course or membership. If a student is not enrolled in any courses, this is what they'll see.

When students enroll in any of your courses, this is what the Zenler app displays, granting them access to the course.

If I click this to Start Course, I can then take the course from within the app.

Now, what happens if I've purchased more than one course? I also have another course here called 'Why Choose Zenler.'

You'll notice that the new course appears below in the 'My Courses' section, allowing you to easily switch between these courses

Remember, students will only see the 'Curriculum' (also called 'Course Player') section, not the course access pages. When designing the app, ensure all important information is in the curriculum. Don't place items like downloads or videos on the course access page; include them in the curriculum. This is what students will view in the app.

The Zenler App Student Engagement with Communities and Notifications

Within the app, we've integrated the use of notifications and communities.

For example, "Zenler the Best Platform" Course has a community created already.

Go to 'Communities'. A community named "Zenler Platform Club" is listed here.

Click the 'Edit' button to overview/edit this community's details.

You can see that "Zenler Platform Club" community is linked to "Zenler the Best Platform" course.

You can also view or add community members by clicking on the 'Members' icon.

Next, 'Go to Communities'.

Now, you are inside of the community. On the left-hand side, you'll see the name of this community which is "Zenler Platform Club". If you belong to more communities, they will appear below here for easy navigation.

On the right-hand side, you can post a "Welcome to the Community" message (or any messages). Click 'Post'.

Now, this is how your student will view it on their mobile app. A notification alert appears at the bottom, indicated by a small bell icon, which will display a numerical count based on the number of notifications you've received.

You can also view 'My Community'. If you were a member of more than one community, they would all appear here. However, if you want a global view of all notifications from all communities, just click on 'Notification'.

The welcome message from the "Zenler Platform Club" community will appear here. Click on the message to view, like, or reply to it.

We liked the message and left a comment saying "Great". This message will appear as a notification for the admin and other users in the community.

You can also send email notifications from the community itself.

First, write a message, i.e. "Special Announcement" > tick the box 'Send an email notification to all members' > click 'Post'. The message has been sent successfully. Now, let's return to our app.

The student will receive a notification in their Zenler app, but also a new notification on their 'Mail App'.

What Media Types Are Available for the Zenler Mobile App

It's important to note that not all features are fully supported on the app yet, but we are actively working on adding more functionality.

This is a preview of the course curriculum with all types of media lessons in the Zenler App. Click each media lesson in the course curriculum to view.

Video

This is how the video will be displayed. It works seamlessly.

It can also be viewed in full-screen mode.

Audio

This is how audio plays within the app. Just tap the play button, and you can listen to your audio lesson. It's worth noting that in the app if the screen darkens or turns off, the audio will continue to play.

E-Books

Unfortunately, the E-Book functionality in the app doesn't match the desktop experience. It provides a PDF that you can open and scroll up and down through the pages. Overall, it lacks the interactive features available on the desktop. Therefore, I would recommend avoiding the E-Book lesson type in the app for now.

PowerPoint Presentations

Click 'play' and you will be taken through all the presentation slides, just like on the desktop.

PDFs

Within the app, the PDF functions as intended, displaying all the pages by scrolling through, although it may not offer the same page-by-page navigation as the desktop viewer.

Text

Within the text lesson, we have various text elements, including headers (H1, H2), normal text, bold text, lists, links, and quotes. Additionally, there is an image with an animated GIF. Everything displays as expected in the app; you can see the images, text formatting, bullet lists, and links, and everything else functions well.

"Animated GIF".

Different "types of text".

Custom Code

It involves inserting HTML code into the course lesson. As you can see in the desktop version it displays nicely.

As you can see below, it appears somewhat distorted on the app, so it might be best to avoid using extensive custom code at this point. Basic code may work fine, but it's advisable to test it before implementing it in your lessons, as there are some issues not present in the desktop version. Currently, custom code is not fully supported by the app.

Downloads

Downloads work perfectly fine in the app, just click the 'Download Content'.

It will seamlessly download the associated PDF or file.

Quizzes

You can start, progress through, finish, and submit quizzes within the app. They are fully functional.

Completing the Quiz Sections.

Surveys

Surveys function similarly to quizzes within the app. You can start, progress through, finish, and submit surveys seamlessly.

HTML Packages

In this case, we've uploaded an HTML package from a random website page to test its display within the desktop version. As you can see, it displays correctly. It's important to remember that HTML packages can also include SCORM files.

As you can see, the HTML package displays perfectly inside the app. However, due to the technical nature of HTML and SCORM, thorough testing may be required to ensure compatibility with your specific system. Please exercise caution and ensure you have the necessary knowledge when uploading HTML or SCORM packages to Zenler.

Assignments

Assignments are fully functional within the app, allowing you to type and submit text.

Upload the content for your assignment.

You can submit the assignment and add comments via the Zenler mobile app

Live Classes

Currently, live classes are not functional within the app. We are actively working on making this feature available. In the meantime, we will provide tutorials on how to create a workaround by using text and linking to a browser page for users to sign up for live classes through their web browsers.

Discussions

Users can engage in lesson-related discussions, although this feature isn't currently available in the app. We're prioritizing its implementation as it's crucial for user engagement on the platform

Branding Your App

Currently, the app has a default blue color and lacks a logo specific to your site. However, you can customize this by accessing the admin section of your site.

Go to 'Site' > 'Mobile App' > 'Branding'.

You can upload your 'App Logo' (150 x 150px) and choose 'App Theme Color'. Once you've made your selections, click 'Save Changes'.

We added Zenler's logo and changed the theme color from blue to pink.

You will notice that the app's appearance has now been updated. This allows you to brand the app to match your site's identity.

Theme color change.

In summary, you've seen the app's compatible media types. This can guide your decision to download it for your school or membership site. Zenler is actively working on adding all desktop media types to the app and enhancing its functionality.
